Emily Meyerhoff has been a part of our firm since 2017. At Manela & Company, APC, Emily manages the Compliance Team and handles the Penalty Abatement and Legal Services offered by our firm.


Emily Meyerhoff is a graduate from the University of California, Los Angeles, as a member of the Phi Beta Kappa and Alpha Lambda Delta Honors Societies. She graduated in 2016 Summa Cum Laude Latin Honors with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Applied Linguistics and a double minor in English and French.

She conducted her own independent research, writing an Honors Research Thesis, for which she was awarded College Honors and Departmental Honors in Applied Linguistics. She presented her Thesis at several Linguistics conferences and was a 2016 Finalist for the UCLA Library Prize for Undergraduate Research.

Emily also achieved a second 4.0 GPA at University of Wisconsin, Eau Claire, while pursuing a Bachelor of Science Degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders.

Emily is beginning her studies for the LSAT and plans to pursue a degree in law in the near future.


Prior to joining Manela & Company, APC, Emily pursued a variety of fields of study, vocations, volunteer opportunities, and avocations, all of which centered around a common set of goals: Helping people and solving problems. These goals carried over into her role at Manela & Company, APC, enabling her to excel in the realm of Paralegal work.


As a Paralegal and head of the Compliance Team, Emily handles a wide array of Legal Services for the firm, from resolving complicated property tax issues involving reappraisal reversals, to assisting clients with their estate planning needs. Emily’s Team, currently comprised of her brother, Forrest Meyerhoff-Genteel, and herself, handles business entity registrations, from non-profit formation and 501(c)(3) exemptions to S Corporation and Limited Liability registrations, and compliance, assisting clients with the filings and payments that keep their entities up to date with the State and the IRS.

Emily also has extensive experience in preparing Trust documents, Share Transfer Agreements, Grant Deeds, and other complex legal documents. Her most recent accomplishments involve heading her first pre-trial Hearing and handling several Tax Court Petitions, both of which saved our clients substantial amounts by reversing erroneous penalties and assessments. Emily works diligently to save our clients money by tackling Penalty Abatement requests, Appeals petitions, and audits.
